If you don’t see the device, use the 5-digit code from the code lookup table below
On screen, go to Settings > Remote Control > Program Remote. Your Genie remote is now ready to control DIRECTV Ready TV. For others, check out the code finder table below For Samsung DIRECTV Ready TVs, five-digit code is 54000. Enter the correct manufacturer’s code using the input keys on the remote. Find the 5-digit code listed at the bottom of this page. Repeat steps 2 (press and hold MUTE and SELECT buttons). Your TV will display “Applying IR/RF setup” message to indicate that you are in RF mode. Stop once the top of the remote flashes (you see the green light on the remote blinks twice) Similar to the previous instructions, press and hold MUTE and SELECT buttons. Point your remote at your Genie HD DVR, Genie Mini, or Wireless Genie Mini. For the code search, look at the table at the bottom of this page. 
If you have a Ready TV, here are the instructions to follow for programming your remote in an easy way. Set up DIRECTV Genie Remote for Ready TV (Using RC73 Remote Codes) Based on the type of device you have you may need to use buttons like VOLUME UP and other volume controls These prompts vary for different devices.
Select the device you want to control and follow the on-screen prompts. Go to Settings > Remote Control > Program Remote. TV should display “Your Remote is now setup for RF”. Using the digit keys on your remote, enter the correct code 961. 
Just like the previous set of instructions, press and hold SELECT and MUTE buttons until the green light flashes twice (top of the remote blinks). Make sure your TV is on and the remote has batteries. In this method, we use RC73 remote codes. The instructions below are slightly different than the ones in the section above. Then go to Remote Control > Program Remote Your TV screen should be displaying “Applying IR/RF setup”. The green light at the top should blink twice Press and hold MUTE and SELECT buttons. Point your remote at Genie HD DVR, Genie Mini, or Wireless Genie Mini.
